Our special maestra, Carina Moeller is a renowned tango teacher and founder of Triangulo Tango Studio
in New York City.

In New Paltz, Carina conducts intermediate level tango workshops two Sundays of every month.


CARINA MOELLER is an accomplished dancer with training in modern dance, ballet, tap and jazz from the Stage School of Dance and Drama, the G. Baudach Ballet Institute and the Ellys Dance School in Germany. She is a graduate, with honors in modern dance, from DANCEWORKS Berlin, and got her theater degree from the Michael Tschechow Studio Berlin. After dancing professionally and performing with modern and theater dance groups all over the world, in 1995 Carina moved to New York City and danced with the Doris Humphrey Repertory Company.

In love with Argentine tango since her early theater days in Berlin, Carina combined passion and profession and pursued a career in Argentine tango. Her teachers have included Fabian Salas, Pablo Veron, Gustavo Naveira, Danel and Maria, Julio and Corina Balmaceda, Chicho and Lucia, and Mingo Pugliese. In 1998, in the heart of Manhattan, Carina opened her own dance studio: Triangulo; New York City's only dance studio exclusively dedicated to Argentine Tango.

Carina is known for her engaging and precise teaching style, and her tango teaching method has been described as the "Zen of tango". She creates a completely stress-free atmosphere, particularly appreciated by novice dancers, and she is supportive and patient. Besides her regular and continuous classes at Triangulo, she has taught at the Spanish Institute and the Argentine Consulate in Manhattan, at Yale University, at City College, at Fordham University, at the Trevor Day School, at Bond Street Theater, etc. She has given workshops in Germany at the Theater Monsun in Hamburg, in Karlsruhe. and in Italy.

She has appeared on the Isaak Misrahi Show, teaching tango to Molly Shannon from Saturday Night Live. And she was a guest in the Martha Stewart Living Radio, on the Sirius satellite radio network, for an hour-long interview about women entrepreneurs and the creation of their businesses. Carina is a frequent guest teacher at the Stella Adler Theater School, and assisted Steve Cook on several movement projects for the Stella Adler Studio.

Carina's Triangulo has been featured on ABC, on NYC TV's Cool The Code, in the National Herald Tribune, Vogue magazine, The Economist magazine, The Villager newspaper, and numerous New York newspapers, magazines and guidebooks.
